Since 2004, Neighbor Ride has played an important role in improving the health and quality of life for older adults in Howard County. Our volunteers have provided over 230,000 trips providing the comfort and peace of mind of affordable, passenger-focused transportation services that only a neighbor can provide. Your support ensures that Neighbor Ride will continue to be there, providing the volunteer-driven transportation that keeps our older adult neighbors connected to the people, activities, and resources that are important to them. Other Ways You Can Support Neighbor Ride
IN HONOR & MEMORY
You can donate in honor of a friend or family member as a birthday or holiday gift, or simply as a kind gesture. Making a memorial contribution is a meaningful way to pay tribute.
DONATE A VEHICLE
Vehicle donations give the gift of independence. If your car, truck, motorcycle, or boat is no longer of use to you, it can still go a long way toward supporting older adults in our community.
Gifts of goods or services help support Neighbor Ride’s mission to offset costs associated with day-to-day operations, special events, fundraisers, and volunteer appreciation programs.
IRA Charitable Distributions: Don’t need your retirement savings as much as you once thought? When you make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), you can directly transfer funds from your IRA to Neighbor Ride, a Qualified Charitable organization, without including the distribution as taxable income. This can result in tax advantages for you, such as potentially lowering your overall taxable income and reducing your tax liability.
Donor Advised Funds: If you already have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) you can recommend grants to support Neighbor Ride.
Stocks and Securities: When you gift stocks and securities that have appreciated in value since purchase, Neighbor Ride does not have to pay any capital gains! Additionally, you may claim the gift as an immediate income tax deduction on your tax return.
Planned Giving: What will your legacy be? By planning your bequest to Neighbor Ride, you will have a lasting impact on the health and well-being of older adults in Howard County.
Sponsorships: Businesses and individuals are invited to consider our one-time and ongoing sponsorship opportunities that provide support for a variety of our programs, publications, and events.
