PAID BOOKKEEPING OPPORTUNITY
As many of you are aware our longtime bookkeeper, Carol Jackson, passed away in early September after a nearly yearlong battle with cancer. She had been Neighbor Ride’s bookkeeper extraordinaire since 2005. While Carol was undergoing cancer treatments, we began transitioning her work to a new bookkeeper so she could focus on her health. Tina (our new bookkeeper) has been wonderful; however, she plans to relocate to Virginia and will be moving out of the area by early January.
OUR ASK – if you know anyone (including yourself) that you think might be interested in doing bookkeeping work for Neighbor Ride, please email Bruce at bsfulton@neighborride.org.
Basic details of the work involved is below:
- Basic bookkeeping activities – check deposits and check writing
- Manage general ledger (QuickBooks Online)
- Prepare and run Payroll (ADP online)
- Support Executive Director with reporting and regulatory filings
Approximately 16 hours a month with hybrid work setup. Typically come into NR office three times a month for 4-5 hours while the remainder of work can be done from home.
Bruce can provide a more detailed role description upon request. Thank you for your assistance!

Join us for sensational music by Antonín Dvořák and Florence Price. Price’s The Oak and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 share a love of nature, traveling through thrilling highs and tragic lows. The trumpets open the concert with the attention-grabbing fanfares of Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and close with another fanfare in Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8. The orchestra will also perform the evocative music of Maryland Composer Jonathan Leshnof. Join us for a program the whole family will be sure to love!
